Woodside Montessori Academy offers the full Montessori educational experience, educating students from three years old through eighth grade. Our school offers a challenging and stimulating academic environment where students are guided by faculty members who are knowledgeable, dedicated, and caring. Our in-school academic atmosphere is complemented by the wide variety of real life experiences.
Based largely on Dr. Maria Montessori’s ideals and teachings, our program reflects a love and respect for each student. It is completely student-centered, with a commitment to the success and happiness of each of our students.
In September of 1985, Woodside Montessori School opened one classroom with twelve students age three to six. Since then, Woodside has continued to grow:
- 1993: Woodside expands to include a Lower Elementary class for 6-9 year olds.
- 1998: Kathleen Gasbarro assumes directorship of the school and the name is changed to Woodside Montessori Academy.
- 2000: Woodside adds an Upper Elementary classroom serving 9-12 year olds.
- 2002: Woodside's Middle School program begins.
Woodside now has a student population of approximately 125 students.
By incorporating students from all racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and intellectual backgrounds, Woodside aims to prepare its students academically, emotionally and physically to become good citizens of the world.
